Boerne: Science In Nature

On Saturday, Sept. 17th the Cibolo Nature Center will be hosting their annual Science in Nature event. The free event will be a back to school kick off introducing how to use nature to learn science. They are partnering with regional science and education professionals to host activities for elementary aged children and their families. Some of those partners include: the City of Boerne Park and Recreation Department, SA Zoo, SA Botanical Gardens, UTSA, Mitchell Lake Audubon, Girls INC, and Riverside Nature Center.

Some of the activities will include: making seed necklaces and seed dissections, coloring with soils, learning how to take care of bees and how they take care of us, drone technology and how we can use it to help the environment, learn how bird beaks are special to the food the bird eats, bats, watersheds and how the landscape and people affect the water, the neat way insects move, and more!
