Lago Vista: Dink Pearson Park

The Lohman Ford/Crossing once provided a path over the Colorado River connecting what is now Lakeway and Point Venture. The early Upper colony settlers traveled in covered wagons to sale and to purchase goods. Later, businessmen like Dink Pearson crossed a concrete bridge that was constructed the 1940’s. The once fertile valleys and the connecting bridge were flooded in 1950’s when the Mansfield Damn was constructed. The North Shore population was financially devastated and became increasingly isolated from urban lifestyle. This park is now operated by Travis County and as such, is a day use park, only.
